Food Grade Lubricants
Synthetic Lubricants: While many mineral-oil-based products meet the NSF International’s food-grade requirements, they often do not measure up to the more demanding temperature and load requirements of modern food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processing equipment. Mineral Oil based products also contain levels of saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) which are coming under safety scrutiny, especially in Europe and Germany specifically. All our synthetic lubricants are MOSH and MOAH free. Compared to mineral-oil lubricants, synthetics tolerate both lower and higher temperatures, offer improved antiwear properties, extend lubrication intervals, and lengthen the service life of moving parts. Synthetic food-grade lubricants are nontoxic, odorless, colorless, and tasteless.
Certifications: Nye’s synthetic food-grade lubricants have been approved and registered by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for use in and around food processing areas. They meet the Nonfood Compound H-1 guidelines for incidental food contact. All raw materials in these lubricants conform to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) CFR Title 21. Please visit the NSF website to see a list of all the food grade products Nye manufactures. We also carry a line of Halal certified lubricants.
Allergens: All our lubricants are allergen free.
Baking Applications: Nye has designed synthetic lubricants for the extreme low and high temperatures of baking processing and handling equipment. These NSF certified lubricants address the issues of food safety, maintenance down-time, extensive wear and continuous production lines by reducing friction and wear, extending component life, and reducing premature application failure. Custom Formulations: In addition to products listed below, Nye can work directly with you to formulate new synthetic lubricants for your food processing and handling equipment, ensuring the new formulations use FDA recognized raw materials. We can also register new formulations with NSF.
