Macroplast UK 8160 is a solvent-free two-component adhesive based on polyurethane. The resin is a hydroxyl organic compound, the hardener is isocyanate. After mixing the ingredients in the proportions of 5: 1 (by weight) or 4.1: 1 (by volume), a hard-elastic adhesive is formed.
Application.
Macroplast UK 8160 is used for flexible, bending-resistant gluing of metals, wood and plastics with hard foams - especially in the automotive and container construction industry, in the construction industry, shipbuilding and technical insulation with temperature resistance up to - 190 ° C. In addition, Macroplast UK 8160 is used to repair damaged glued joints.
Application instructions.
The glued surfaces must be free from grease and oil and clean. Plastics have to be cleaned of anti-adhesive agents. The improvement of the adhesion can be increased by roughening the surface. Also, covering with a primer or ordinary rinsing with a solvent (isopropanol, ethanol, acetate) may be sufficient surface preparation. The resin and hardener are mixed before applying in the proportions given above until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The adhesive can be applied only for a limited time (viability), later it becomes gelatinized and becomes unusable. The adhesive can be accelerated by heating the joint. The Macroplast UK 8160 can be applied by hand (spatula) or by machine. Apply the adhesive only on one surface. After applying the adhesive, press the two surfaces together.
Storage
Unless there are other indications on the label, an ideal way of storing it will be to keep it in closed containers in a cool and dry room at a temperature between 10 ° C-25 ° C. The storage time is 12 months in the original packaging.
