Terostat VII is a solvent-free, plastic, self-adhesive, multi-purpose sealing tape based on synthetic rubber.
It provides good corrosion protection and can be coated with commercially available resin or oil-based lacquers. It is resistant to water and aging. Thanks to its adhesive properties, it adheres to clean and dry surfaces of all materials. It exhibits excellent adhesion properties with various materials.
Therefore, Terostat VII is used to seal overlapping joints or intermediate seals. The sealed elements must be mechanically positioned and fixed, eg by clamps, screws, rivets, etc.
For industrial serial applications Terostat VII is also supplied in barrels and can be processed with a heater.
Application
Terostat VII is used for sealing and to maintain the gap between the joined elements in the following fields:
-in the industry for processing metal sheets, e.g. for sealing sheets with the structure,
as protection against contact corrosion between steel and colored metals,
production of cars and under construction wagons and caravans to seal parts of metal, wood and tw -
bearings that reduce vibrations and seal parts in the electrical industry.
Preparation for sealing:
The contact points of the elements must be dry, free from dust, grease and sand as well as from other elements that reduce adhesion (eg mold separator) and dirt. Traces of lubricant oil can be absorbed by Terostat VII.
The use of sealing tape:
Terostat VII develops from the reel and cuts to the right length. The tape is then put on the surface to be sealed and pressed. In this case, the advantage is that the paper or protective film is not removed from the tape during unrolling, but only after application and pressing and after fitting the counter-element. This allows you to remove the excess of a long tape or protect the sealing tape from dirt. After removing the protective foil, put on the second element and set the two elements in relation to each other.
Cleaning:
The protruding excess mass can be collected with a piece of Terostat VII by the so-called Dziuba.
