LOCTITE 5070; The Pipe Repair Kit is recommended for immediate reliable repairs of metal, plastic and composite pipes.
The Pipe Repair Kit contains a urethane-impregnated fiberglass tape that allows for immediate repairs within a few minutes. Special tools or qualified personnel are not needed.
Pipe Repair Tape is activated with water and applied by simply wrapping the fiberglass tape around the damaged area. The curing process takes about 30 minutes.
The Pipe Repair kit also includes the Loctite 3463 Metal Magic kneaded mass for one-time use, which has holes and cracks before applying the tape.
The set used in combination of fiberglass tape with kneaded epoxy mass ensures reliable and quick repair of pipes at typical operating temperatures from -29 C to +121 C. This kit should not be used for pipes carrying corrosive substances or any hazardous or noxious materials.

Application instructions.
- Before opening the package, please read carefully:
- Cut off the pressure in the piping and dry the place to be repaired.
- In order to obtain the best result, the damaged area should be cleaned and carefully prepared as follows: Grind the pipe with sandpaper or a file to create a rough surface; rinse with an oil-free solvent. The prepared surface should be 3 to 4 times larger than the damaged area, which will allow maximum adhesion.
- To stop leakage at low pressure or to fill in cracks and voids, use the epoxy, kneaded mass of Metal MagicTM included in the kit. The resulting mechanical connector is the weakest element in the repair kit. Take the foil from the Metal Magic mass and knead it until it becomes homogeneous. Mix the mixed epoxy thoroughly into the crack gap, hole or defect.
- Put on the gloves, remove the plastic packaging and quickly activate the Pipe Repair Tape by immersing it for 20 seconds in water at room temperature. Keep in mind that when the packaging is opened, the tape begins to cure in contact with atmospheric moisture; therefore, further activities must be carried out as soon as possible.
- Tightly wrap the damaged area with Pipe Repair tape covering the space of a few inches outside of it. Stretch and smooth it so that it adheres tightly. Wrap the tape at least four times around the pipe or wind 3-4 times thicker layer than the pipe wall. With a gloved hand, squeeze the urethane mass into the tape, smoothing it until it loses its original adhesiveness. The Pipe Repair Tape hardens completely in about 30 minutes and after an hour the pipe can function normally.
Storage
If there are no other indications on the product label, the ideal way to store it will be to keep it in closed containers in a cool and dry room between 8 ° C and 28 ° C (46oF to 82oF). The optimal storage temperature is the lower half of this range. The product is intended for single use, so the remaining tape will no longer be suitable for future use.
