Product description:
LOCTITE 7277 is a two-component, solvent-free coating designed to protect concrete surfaces from corrosive compounds. It is characterized by excellent chemical resistance, thanks to which it can be exposed to solvents as well as weak and strong acids and bases.
Application instructions:
Surface preparation
Proper surface preparation is important for the durability of the coating. The method of surface preparation affects the quality of the coating, the time of its use and depends on the initial state of the surface.
- Concrete should be seasoned for at least 30 days.
- Remove greases, oils and dirt by thorough cleaning.
- Surface contaminants, such as old coatings, loose concrete and dust, should be removed by abrasive blasting, high-pressure water treatment, milled or acid etched and thoroughly rinsed.
- The prepared surface must be rough and dry. Surface profile CSP3 to CSP5 (ICRI - standard guideline 03732).
- All surface irregularities, crevices, holes, pores and cracks must be filled.
Application
- The best results are obtained when the surface of the coating is protected from direct sunlight and sudden changes in temperature
- Ambient temperature range and components: 15 to 40 ° C.
- Relative humidity: <85%; the temperature of the elements must always be 3 ° C above the dew point.
- Concrete can gass due to its porosity. In order to minimize this effect, the coating should be applied when the temperature of the concrete falls, i.e. in the evening
- Add the contents of the package B to the container A. Mix thoroughly until obtaining a homogeneous color. Make sure that the material temperature is between 15 and 30 ° C
- The coating layer applied with a brush or roller should be between 200 and 300 microns
You can apply multiple layers of the product, but wait for the gel to gel, while not allowing the coating to fully cure before applying the next layer of the product.
If the maximum time allowed for applying the next coating has been exceeded, the surface should be subjected to a gentle abrasive blasting treatment, after which it should be rinsed with solvent to remove all deposits.
After use, before the adhesive cures, clean the mixing and dosing equipment using Terostat 8550.
Efficiency
With a layer thickness of 100 microns, the yield is 8.3 m² / kg, not taking into account the overspill of the product sprayed outside the specified surface area, etc.
Check
- Visually check that no product openings or fragments are visible on the surface after applying the product.
- After the coating has hardened, it is necessary to check again visually that there are no holes, no fragments covered with the coating and that there are no mechanical damages.
- Check the thickness of the coating, especially at critical points.
Repair
Any fragments not covered by the coating and areas covered with too thin a layer of the product should be re-covered.
The surface should be subjected to gentle abrasive blasting, clean and re-apply the product
Storage
Unless otherwise indicated on the label, an ideal way of storing it will be to keep it in closed containers in a cool and dry room between 8 ° C and 21 ° C. Optimal storage temperature: + 8 ° C to + 21 ° C. Storage at temperatures below + 8 ° C or above + 28 ° C may irreversibly change product properties.
The remaining material should not be placed back in its original container, as the product may become contaminated.
